The GPS (World wide Positioning System) is fully-functional for pretty much two decades. GPS contains 27 satellites situated in a medium earth orbit. A satellite is considered to stay medium earth orbit if it is 35,000 kilometers above the Earth's surface, around 22,000 miles. The primary experimental satellite was launched in 1972. It had been not until 1995, 23 years following the introduction of the initial experimental satellite, as a fully function satellite monitoring system that GPS bore fruit. Even then a system was restricted to military and airline industry use.
