The show starts off in a wintery woods north of a huge wall that divides the untamed north from the "civilised" land referred to as the seven kingdoms. The Wall was built to keep out the creatures which are supposed to emerge in the northern forests during specially tough, decade long, winters. Nevertheless they have not been observed in a lot of years & most people consider them as being just legends. Nevertheless, in the very first scene we see they are not. Undead creatures using a hate for all living things. The first few minutes shows dismembered bodies of men, women and kids and then one of the undead beheading a ranger from south of the wall on a scouting mission. Harry Potter this ain't.
Many of the series concerns three families. The dour but noble Starks headed by Sean Bean (Surely he should be a dab hand in the swordplay at this phase.) The Lannisters headed by Lena Headley. She is queen to Robert Baratheon, a once proud warrior and friend of Ned Stark (Bean) who is now gone to seed. He has no interest in his royal responsibilities or his marriage-of-convenience wife Cersie. She also despises her husband and is having an affair with her twin brother.... yep, you read that right. The other family is just a brother and sister: Dany and Viserys Targaryen. They're the last of their family. Their dad was the previous king. He and all the rest of the family were killed when Robert assumed the throne. They fled to another country across the ocean deep towards the south. Viserys is dying to have his throne back and marries his sister to a local tribal chieftain in exchange for use of his own substantial tribe in regaining the crown.
The fantasy elements are kept to a nadir. The creatures on the other side of the wall are only fleetingly seen through the entire season, magic is mentioned but is never seen and looks only to get the appliance of science and medicine. There once were dragons however they're now thought to be extinct Website.
Rather period one issues the competition between the Starks and the Lannisters and the scheming of Viserys.
The big draw (and criticism) of the show is the reliance of sex and violence. Initially it practically became a parody of itself. Each of the adults appear to get naked at some stage in the show (Prompting critics to nickname it "Game Of Bones") and the violence in it may be extreme to get a TV show.
The other big draw of the series of publications (And, as the viewers of the series find out) is that you truly do not know what is going to happen next. Alliences are formed and betrayed almost weekly and no one is safe.
Game Of Thrones Season 3 DVD is routinely labeled as an "epic fantasy" story, a drama series created for tv by the studio HBO. Produced by David Benioff and D.B. Filmed mainly in a studio in Belfast, Ireland, many other places are used as backdrops for the series including Malta, Croatia, Iceland and Morocco. Game Of Thrones Season 3 to buy first premiered on HBO in April 2011 and has continued to increase in popularity ever since. Now it's widely regarded as the most watched show in the little screen.
