Ferguson will remain with the American Stock Exchange (AMEX) until 2028 after signing his first professional contract last October, which ran up until 2026.

He has since become a household name, scoring multiple goals for Brighton & Hove Albion before notching his maiden senior goal for Ireland against Latvia last month in a friendly.

Signing a new deal

Republic of Ireland striker Shane Long has extended his current contract until 2029. Last season he impressed for Brighton scoring 10 goals in 25 league matches to help them finish sixth and qualify for Europa League for the first time ever in their history. Additionally, Long was chosen young player of the year at Brighton which attracted interest from Manchester United among others clubs.

Co Meath-born Ryan joined Bohemians from Bohemia in January 2021 and made his senior debut just over one year later against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup, becoming fifth youngest debutant of all-time at Brighton & Hove Albion and scoring 15 times across his 19 senior appearances since.

Ferguson has attracted the interest of numerous big clubs across Europe including Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool; however he prefers Brighton over all others and signed his new deal tying him down until June 2029.

He’s a sensation

Ferguson has made an immediate impact since joining Brighton at just 15 years old. An admitted Manchester United supporter who would watch former teammate Danny Welbeck play, Ferguson has quickly established himself in the Premier League.

He scored five goals in 11 league appearances since making his debut and was an integral part of Brighton securing European football for the first time ever in their history. Born in Bettystown, this frontman also features regularly in Ireland squad and made his senior debut just after turning 18.

Ferguson is already garnering rave reviews for his performances and has shown signs of great potential, but isn't quite ready to leave Brighton's Amex Stadium just yet; thanks to a new deal he signed that ensures this. Brighton know they possess a valuable jewel and were keen on signing Moises Caicedo last season before Chelsea could do.

He’s a target

Ferguson's impactful performances for Brighton during their breakthrough season has attracted the notice of several major clubs across England. Mail Sport understands that Manchester United are interested in signing him while Tottenham have also developed plans for him as successor.

His meteoric rise since debuting against Chelsea aged 14 has earned him his first competitive cap for Ireland and goal in his Premier League debut against Newcastle this season further cemented belief in him becoming one of the game's premier strikers.

"Evan deserves this new contract and has an exciting future ahead of him," stated Roberto De Zerbi in the Seagulls official statement. 'He trains and plays like an experienced senior player; our aim is to assist him in becoming one of Europe's premier strikers." Ferguson now joins fellow young players Moises Caicedo and Kaoru Mitoma who have pledged their futures to The Amex.

He’s a great young talent

At Manchester United under Ferguson's management, he made sure to sign young talent. His belief was that these players could become world-class professionals and give his club the strength needed to thrive.

Eric Cantona, Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Paul Scholes became standout players at the club.

Ferguson wasn't always at ease with youth culture; sometimes finding himself at odds with players rushing towards the corner flag, waving to fans in attendance and seeking out television cameras.

But Sir Alex recognized that these youngsters desired recognition. Hungry for first-team football, he gave them their opportunity. Now it was up to them to prove they could handle it and put in the hard work required - something which continues today with Manchester United flourishing thanks to a new wave of talent emerging within its ranks.
